The Headlines: 
 
Scout is seeking a Capacity Buyer, responsible for developing relationships with new carriers and strengthening relationships with existing carriers to meet or exceed sales goals. 
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Research and qualify prospects by telephone in a cold-call approach to carriers 
  • Follow up on carrier leads
  • Regenerate carriers by introducing them to additional services offered by the company
  • Manage all assigned loads on a daily basis
  • Procure capacity and negotiate favorable pricing to increase profitability
  • Develop relationships with carriers to understand carrier capabilities and competitive pricing
  • Work closely with Account Managers to understand customer requirements
  • Review carrier service levels to ensure key performance indicators are achieved
  • Ensure tracking expectations are achieved
  • Escalate all potential carrier service failures to Account Management and resolve issues as they arise
 
Qualifications and Skills:
 
  • Post -Secondary Education preferred
  • Strong selling background a must!
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and negotiations skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Able to respond effectively to multiple priorities and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Proficiency in MSOffice applications, including knowledge of CRM software (ideally Salesforce)
  • Experience in a Call Centre or Telemarketing environment an asset
