Scout Logistics is seeking an Inside Sales Representative responsible for a blended role of account management and business development. This position is responsible for managing and expanding new and existing accounts by coordinating and arranging the transportation of goods in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prospecting for new business and new carrier partners
  • Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Expand and service existing customer and carrier base
  • Manage and maintain a healthy list of reliable carrier partners
  • Negotiate rates with both customers and carriers
  • Quote, book, dispatch and monitor shipments from pick-up to delivery
  • Maintain communication with customers/carriers to ensure successful deliveries

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Driven by success and the opportunity to make money in a competitive environment
  • Previous Sales and Account Management experience an asset
  • Proven selling, customer service and communication skills
  • Analytical, data driven approach to sales
  • Problem-solving and strong negotiation skills
  • Well-organized and self-motivated to achieve results
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute under pressure
  • Confidence in making time-sensitive decisions
  • Logistics Management industry experience an asset but not required
  • Proficiency in MSOffice applications and CRM software
